IPM or ICM?

integrated crop managementMost of you are familiar with Integrated Pest management (IPM) but what about ICM or Integrated Crop Management?  Paul Winski, Technical Services Specialist at Syngenta Flowers, explains ICM and Biological Controls in a hour-long webinar produced by Greenhouse Grower TV.  The webinar can be viewed at http://www.greenhousegrower.com/ggtv/?vid=437.

ICM uses much the same approach as IPM – controlling pests with the most effective tools at the right time.  In the webinar Mr. Winski discusses key ICM components including motivation, measuring, and methods as well as utilizing biological controls for some of the most troublesome greenhouse pests such as aphids, thrips, whiteflies, spider mites and fungus gnats.
